One of ‘today’s finest lyric tenors,’ Joseph Calleja will be performing for one night only at the V&A Museum along with ‘the people’s soprano,’ Rebecca Newman. The programme will include a mix of mix of opera classics and legendary tunes, amongst them Signore Ascolta, La Vie en Rose and O Sole Mio. This live concert event will take place on Tuesday 13th June 2017. The event will be focused on raising funds for the Inle Trust Charity www.inletrust.org.uk to allow the continuation of the monastery orphanage & school work currently going on in Lake Inle, Burma.

His expansive discography and frequent appearances on the world’s leading opera and concert stages prompted NPR to hail him as “arguably today’s finest lyric tenor,” and led to his being voted Gramophone magazine’s 2012 Artist of the Year. A Grammy-nominated recording artist for Decca Classics, he recently released his fifth solo album for the label, Amore.
Rebecca Newman is an English soprano singer and songwriter. She came to prominence in the UK music scene in September 2014 when her debut chart album Dare to Dream went to number 1 in the Official UK Classical Artists Album Chart. She has teamed up with classical music legends James Fitzpatrick for the orchestral sessions – producer to opera and TV star Lesley Garrett – and Paul Bateman – musical director to international star Sarah Brightman.
