The Inle Trust update June 2016 Monk-optimsed

Phongyi, the monk in charge,  gave a very passionate speech to the children and village elders at the inauguration of the Healthcare Assistant training centre at the monastery.
“It was only some 5 years ago that feeding the 500 or so children was a day to day struggle. Every day I sat in meditation and prayed that someone of like mind would come from the outside into this remoteness and lend a helping hand. Then one day there was a storm on the lake……………the rest is what you see around you. The 1,200 children have clean water (Ko Yin Mineral Water) to drink, medical and sanitation facilities, vocational training in computers ……and now nursing training.

I am so happy to hear that the great opera singer Joseph Calleja will soon be doing a concert to help raise funds for our children at the monastery. Feroze tells me that he is a man with a big heart-a very kind and compassionate man. I thank him. The children and I pray for all the donors every day.”   READ MORE
